INTENSIVE
SPANISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROGRAMS
Each one of these programs consists of (210 hours)6 weeks of up to six hours a day classes and activities designed to ensure that you learn the Spanish language in a context which enhances the understanding of Hispanic-American cultures, history and literature. UVAQ and SEE will grant students who successfully complete the program a "Diplomado" Certificate.
Intensive and short-term programs are offered to groups of 5 to 10 participants, of similar levels of Spanish knowledge and interests.

Basic grammar structures,
vocabulary, survival Spanish, Mexican culture, and dancing
workshop.
- Intermediate
Certificate Program (ICP)
Mid-level grammar structures,
vocabulary, active language skills, Mexican history, and cooking
workshops.
- Advanced
Certificate Program (ACP)
Fluent use of language,
Hispanic literature, and clay and pottery workshop.

SHORT-TERM
SPANISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROGRAMS
Each program consists of (30 hours) one week-up to six hours a day classes and activities designed to ensure that you learn the Spanish language in a context which increases your understanding of Hispanic-American cultures. UVAQ will grant a certificate to students who successfully complete the program. These programs will be catered according to students’ needs.
Intensive and short-term programs are offered to groups of 5 to 10 participants, of similar levels of Spanish knowledge and interests.

ONE
ON ONE CLASSES
This option is especially recommended for those students who want to learn at their own pace as well as their particular needs and interests. These classes have to be taken by weeks. The method is aimed principally towards oral fluency and precision, which the student achieves through practicing in real-life situations, both inside and outside the classroom. The classes include visits to places like markets, museums, and other centers of social and cultural interests

EVALUATIONS
•Students will have different quizzes, assignments, class activities and homeworks which will be graded and considered as part of the final grade.
•Evaluations will be both oral and written.
•There will be 2 tests, the first one in the middle of the course and the second one at the end.
•Percentage: Activities during the course 40%
Midterm Exam 30%
Final Exam 30%

ENROLLMENT
& PLACEMENT
Eligibility.
All students must be 18 years-old or older.
Every student has to show proof of medical insurance that applies in Mexico.
In the “registration” section you will find the application form for admission and housing. Fill them out, send them, and we will promptly get in contact with you.
A $50.00 US (non refundable registration fee) deposit is required four weeks prior to the start of the course. You can charge the amount to you Visa or MasterCard credit card or you can buy a money order addressed to: UNIVERSIDAD VASCO DE QUIROGA, CAMINO JESUS DEL MONTE # 555, MORELIA, MICHOACAN, MEXICO, 58290 and send it by a delivery service such as UPS, Federal Express, DHL. Tuition and remaining fees have to be paid in cash, traveler checks or credit card (Visa or MasterCard) the day before starting classes.
Placement:
The first day of classes you will begin by taking the diagnostic test so that we can place you in the most appropriate program for your level of profiency, unless you want to start with the basic program.
NOTE: In the event that the student does not attend the scheduled classes, regardless of the reason, these classes will not be made up.

ACCOMMODATION
If you want, you can be accommodated with a Mexican family (single room, full accommodation -3 meals/day, bathroom might be shared with host family)
Other accommodations on request. We would be glad to help you find an apartment for rent or a hotel room.

Morelia, the capital of the state of Michoacán is located 1950 meters above sea level, has a temperate climate of 23ºC average, and has a population of around 1,000,000 inhabitants.
Morelia is located in Central Mexico very near other important cities and resorts, with a short approximate driving time to Mexico City (4 hours), Guadalajara (3.5 hours), León (3 hours), Querétaro (3 hours), Ixtapa (4 hours), Guanajuato (3 hours)
Morelia enhances the best of the noble colonial architecture and has been for centuries at the vanguard of thought and education as it houses its prestigious Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. Morelia is a center for cultural, artistic and outdoor activities, thus being a perfect gathering place for students, artists and thinkers from all over the state, country and world. The Historical Center of Morelia has been for many years declared Historical and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. With a 465 year history, Morelia is the place to be in for studies or tourism.
